Human factor

Last weekend was very busy. We decided to buy tickets in one nice place in Finland. And half a day filled with documents from some hapless tourist agent :) We were insanely hungry and went to a wonderful cafe in the center of St. Petersburg. It's called "Ukrop - healthy food restaurant." It is a completely vegan cafe! There are incredibly wonderful setting and great menu. If you're in my city make sure to visit it. 

On the evening we had a scheduled trip to the theater. We watched a play by belgian writer Francois Emmanuel called "Human factor". This is shrill, sad and profound work. The play is monologue of psychologist working in a large office of some transnational corporation. Deputy boss instructs him confidentially to examine main boss, with whom something is going wrong.  In the course of this examination all sorts of skeletons are pulled out of the  cabinets - like the fact that the boss is sleeping with a dedicated secretary and why she had snitched on him. And also - and most importantly - a psychologist, unraveling the tangle of neuroses and phobias reveals that the filaments are drawn in one  Nazi's past. And finally, the most daunting discovery that puts  psychologist on the very brink of madness is that  methods and rules that guide with "optimization" (announced drastic reduction of workers, and he must decide whom to dismiss) coincide with the instructions for culling racially inferior, adopted in the Third Reich... Very strong play! Recommend it to everyone who likes to reveal the terrible secrets of the past.

Unfortunately, this day was  rainy and my outfit for the evening was heavily damaged : ( So I can only show you a great clutch, which was with me. But it worth it all :)

In the mood

Yesterday was a crazy night! Finally the moment has come! We went to the concert of Glenn Miller Orchestra! I need to catch my breath to quietly tell the tale. It was incredible! As soon as the band took the stage we found ourselves in the atmosphere of the 40s. Two hours of divinely beautiful melodies and incendiary energy! Until now my heart is beating faster and jazz sounds in my head. 

Their vocalist is  personified charm. She has a wonderful gentle and deep voice. 

I can talk about this concert for hours, but once is better to go and hear :) I assure you, your legs just start dancing! 

For this event I had  a wonderful dress by Collectif. I like it very much. Lately I buy clothes only from them.

My little world has lost its light

Unusually warm February. I love this weather. But there is no way to enjoy the revival occurring in nature. Black stripe have started and it lasts for around two weeks. I am haunted by the failures and minor mishaps. Same with my friends and family. Now I'm afraid to take any significant steps or take vital decisions. Waiting for some sign that all bad is ended. From morning till night I'm doing research for my thesis, and hope that anything evil won't happen again.

Something must change! In this situation, I decided to change myself. Slightly. Farewell bangs! :) Sounds silly, but I need at least something new or I'll go crazy. Besides, I have long wanted to appeal to a more classical looking. So bye-bye colored strands! On the other hand it is connected with the fact that the place where I desire to work after my graduation  very high demands to the appearence. But it's still a secret!

Nights in white satin

Today is magical day, my friends! I hope you are all absorbed in love and passion that illuminates your life. The same can be said about me. I was lucky to find someone whom I can call my second half. He always shares my interests, supports me in difficult times, keeps alive my craving for travel. We have come a long way to present unity and happiness. I am very uneasy person :) Very often insane jealousy gripping me. But I try to overcome my bad temper for a loved one. Some of you probably think that today's celebration is quite silly. But it is not so! This is just one more reason to say to the one near you how much you love him/her. So let's be happy regardless of the date on the calendar!

Title for this post is not accidental. Remember the beginning of your relationship with someone, when you're trying to remember every detail associated with the object of your feelings. That's it! When we started dating, there was wonderful film in cinemas -  Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows". Tee-hee :) And of course you remember the soundtrack to the film. The moody blues - "Nights in white satin". Honestly we were looking at each other, not at the screen. And kissed when this wonderful melody sound. Ah...What does our life without love?

For monetary reasons and because of the lack of fantasy I bought for my lover a rather banal gift - stunning fragrance from Kenzo. But in return I got something completely unexpected! A day for the two of us in the spa complex! WOW! How does he manage to guess my secret desires?! And tonight we're going to drink a glass of wine in a French restaurant. I wish you all amazing evening and romantic weekend! =*

Mirror Medusa

It seems god of perfumes appreciated my previous post and gave me a new flavor! :D Addition to my collection - Kenzo Mirror Edition. This odor is like reminiscent of childhood - lollipops, summer, fruits ... I feel notes of melon, wild berries and mint mixed with tangerine, pepper, sandalwood, vanilla and musk. Such a light and delicate flavor! 

Well, once we started talking about cosmetics, I must share with you a useful thing for hair. It's wonderful Aroma Magic revitalising hair oil. I bought this bottle during my trip to India, as I have always wanted to know how oriental beauties get such amazing hair. Here is the answer - natural oils! Aroma Magic oil contains only natural ingredients and extracts - for my long hair it's the best choice! And what is very important, all Indian cosmetics not tested on animals - I always carefully study this point. 

The air tastes just like you, it's the smell of June

I hope you are familiar with Demeter Fragrance Library. This is an incredible collection of scents! In addition to the wonderful, but a lil boring flavors like cherry, lavender, lilac or freesia, they have more interesting and unusual - blueberry, giant sequoia and grass. But that's not all! For demanding noses they have perfume with the scent of...moonbeam, snow, salt air, sawdust, clean skin and many other crazy fragrances. And now here's my wish list: holy water, dirt and funeral home! Honestly last smell is not the best. But what else to expect from a funeral home!:) Nevertheless, I still desire them for my collection. However, my other half decided that I am too sweet for this perfume and gave me Vanilla Ice Cream and ...tadam!...my pride - Elvira's Black Roses! 

Elvira is the inspiration for the collection of supernatural, spooky, spectacular scents that are unlike anything you have smelled from Demeter Fragrance Library before. Or from anyone alse for that metter. These Dark Florals are beautiful, but radical and truly unique in their approach to the scent.

But today I want to talk not only about that. This weekend I saw a new movie called "Viy". Don't be put off by the fact that it's Russian :) This is a great example of sci-fi thriller, with elements of Gothic and steampunk. For lovers of literature I can say that the film is based on the classic story by Nikolai Gogol. It's really beautiful and not a banal film. If you see it in the cinema in your city - be sure to go and write about your experience! Here are a few frames:
