- Oh, Gomez. The Bermuda Triangle. Devil's Island. The black hole of Calcutta. - Excuse us. Second honeymoon.

Not so long ago, I started to tell you about my trip to the mysterious India. The second city on our way was Calcutta. People call it "The city of joy". And they are definitely right. Calcutta looks very different than Delhi. The reason for that its colonialist past. As you know, the city was founded by the British, and this is evident throughout. Everywhere there are beautiful houses in European style, and each of them deserves to be immortalized in a photo. Wide avenues with sidewalks are laid in the center. Absolutely fabulous appear Christian churches rising above the palm trees here and there. Oh yes, madly many trees, parks and gardens. So Calcutta became a real surprise for us. And you know what is the most exciting? Victorian atmosphere of the city. At the heart of it is the Victoria Memorial - a charming building with a monument to Queen Victoria, who imperiously looks at you from the top down. At the same time, the Indian way of life contributed to the appearance of the city. Many rickshaws, some kind of cables everywhere, people, merchants, vegetable stalls, tents, English yellow cabs and old buildings - all this creates an atmosphere of post apocalyptic London. It's fantastic!

(I called myself a little Victorian ghost, and passers-by - a doll)

(I promise I will never do so again!)

Unfortunately we didn't have so much time. What I'm really sorry, it's that we don't have time to explore the cult of the great and terrible Hindu goddess Kali, after whom the city is named. We have been in only one temple dedicated to her, and it's very extraordinary place. It's imbued with incredible energy. Kali is the only goddess who in the peaceful Hinduism receives bloody sacrifices... So this place is creepy and sacred and causes trembling.

Yet another reason to visit Kolkata - my favorite writer Mircea Eliade. The fact that Romanian scholar of religion had spent a few years before the outbreak of the World War II here. I wanted to go to the same places that he did, as I imagined Calcutta from his books. Of course, Kolkata nowdays is not at all as he described it, however for me it was a kind of pilgrimage.

Cities in dust

Darlings, I was gone for two weeks, please forgive me for the silence! You know, the only thing we buy that makes us richer - is  a journey. Yes, I was very very far from the cold Russian winter. My path for the second time ran across India. This was not only a vacation. In New Delhi I had some business meetings. But however, even a business trip to India is always filled with a lot of new experiences, discoveries and findings. This time, I absolutely fell in love with Delhi. We planned the trip so to spend in this anthill as little time as possible. But now I really regret it! This city is a real treasure for lovers of history and art. I can not even imagine how much time you need to visit all its palaces, fortresses, mosques, temples and museums.  Hopefully next time I'll be able to give it due attention.

Bastards from the underground

In early November Rebel Dolls starred in the music video of the St. Petersburg psychobilly band "Evil Jokers". The action took place in an abandoned industrial building, where, according to the plot, the vocalist gets into one of his nightmares. There he met with various horror characters: sinister bloody doctor, a maniac with a chainsaw and a murderous zombie bitches! Guess, who performed their role?!;)

It was my first role, so I have no idea what will happen at the outlet :) But one thing is for sure: it was insanely fun! The shooting process  is a very tedious thing, but it goes unnoticed, if you are surrounded by friends.

Premiere of the clip is scheduled for December 5th, and in honor of this we will have a party. Unfortunately I can't visit it, because at this point I will be abroad, but more on that later;) I hope that everyone will have an excellent time at the event and will not laugh too loudly over our acting abilities :D

And as a postscript: I wear a badge of PPHA - Pikes peak hearse association from Colorado. Guys you are the best, especially Norman <3

Wonderful life

Sweet November outside. Last leaves have already fallen down from the trees. Strolling along the park in the morning I'm enjoying the last rays of the sun on my face. Whitish frost covers the grass and the ice has begun to constrain water. It seems that with the last flocks of birds my soul is  flying away. Soon  there will come  the endless black nights and I will enter into the period of melancholy and screeching halt. Inaction, passivity and unwillingness to do  or to change anything haunt me in the winter. So now, in a season that inspires me the most, I have to do the maximum! In plans there are articles, notes, long letters, and many other things that have long been waiting for me on the writing table. Autumn, don't leave me...

Soap Bubbles

Who among us doesn't love to receive gifts? :) But for me, there is nothing nicer than Halloween gifts! Me and my American friend Norman have a long tradition of exchanging festive parcels that day. This year he sent me an 8 pound box packed with all that could wish a Gothic heart! Among other enjoyable things there was an amazing vintage casket made in the form of a Hemingway's book.

What was inside of it became for me an object of the real mania! And in fact this was just a soap! Who would have thought that the soap can be so creative, interesting, unusual?! And smell like holy heaven! So I can't resist and not to introduce to you Nature's emporium soap company

I was gifted with 3 kinds of this paradise  pleasure: Thunder moon, Golden pumpkin and Sugar bar. I will tell about them in order.

So #1 Thunder moon

It refers to the collection of ethnic flavors and associated with the Native American myths. Invigorating as the July Thunderstorms, this soap is a sure energizer.

Cocoa Butter & Shea Butter. Essential Oils of Juniperberry, Cedar and Lavender.

#2 Golden pumpkin

This is my favorite! It smells so incredibly delicious that I don't want to let it from my hands! Warm Vanilla, Spicey Cinnamon & Honey combine to make this a romantic Autumn bar.

Handcrafted with Saponified Olive, Soy, Coconut, Sweet Almond & Castor Oils.

Cocoa Butter & Shea Butter. Oils of Vanilla, Cinnamon & Honey.

And finally #3 Sugar bar
If the previous was the best in its smell, this one is undoubtedly the best in design. Just look at this traditional skull and a great combination of colors. Celebrating our Ancestors the way of the South West, the Sugar Bar featuring art by Sarah Hart! This Bar smells so sweet you will want to eat it! Just like Sugar and combined with Coconut & Palm Sugar ~ it is sure to make your shower a true TREAT!

Trick or treat - the bitter and the sweet!

(My Vampira costume for this Halloween)

In the gloomy autumn evening on the eve of All Saints' Day, evil creeps out on dark streets to tickle nerves of belated passers. Among the whirlwind of ghouls and devils, continually flashed others, unusual and frightening characters.  This is seductive Witch who enchants men with devilish elixirs, and the mysterious Mummy that keeps the secrets of Egyptian gods immortality.  Along with them that night resurrects personages of old Hollywood horror tapes, who eager to make their nightmares come true - undead creations of Victor Frankenstein and sinister Vampira. And those who will slip from their fangs will face Alice from Wonderland,  with a sweet smile hiding behind her back a dagger.

So, dear friends, Happy Halloween! And Rebel Dolls have already started to celebrate it in the St. Petersburg restaurant of horror aesthetics - "The Bat". I wish you a great damn fun evening! V~V

She's in parties

On Friday, November 17 was held the first party of Rebel Dolls - "Rebel Night." This gig was dedicated to the birth of our project and the celebration of the birthday of one of our girls - Miss Christine! Despite the fact that this is our first event - the club was packed with guests. Almost whole rockabilly hangout of our city danced with us that night :) We spent a lot of pin-up contests, listened to the best hits and had fun until the morning. It sounds crazy, but we even had a limbo! :)
