Flowers of the sea

Hello friends. It has been nearly two weeks since I made the last post. The matter is that I travel around the country located between Europe and Asia. Of course this is Turkey - a country of dervishes and flowering pomegranates. I lived on the shores of the Mediterranean sea, surrounded by picturesque rocks and exotic flowers, and every day was filled with eastern languor and  flavors of spices.

In the first days of my journey Poseidon was fearsome and we had seen only the gloomy face of him, but over time the weather improved and we had a chance to admire the azure expanse of water. Our first outing was a trip to Kaleici - the old town of Antalya. This is a magical place where old fortress walls went down to the shore, wooden ships moored and by  the cobbled streets goes the army of fluffy cats.

When we were a little accustomed to the unfamiliar country we took a two-day trip to the Mira, where we have seen the sarcophagus of Saint Nicholas. Then we sailed on  the boat to the sunken  after the earthquake antique city Kekova.

With the first rays of the sun of the second day we went to explore the ancient necropolis of Hierapolis and  the wonder of nature - Pamukkale.

Pamukkale - a world-famous source of calcium waters, which for centuries flowed down the mountain forming a white terraces. Looking at this magic impossible to believe that this is not done by human hands.

The rest of our ten-day trip we spent exploring the magnificent mountains, which lie along the coast. We made the climb to the top of the mountain Tahtalı by the longest cableway in Europe. Hovering over coniferous forests at the height of bird flight was something unforgettable. While down on the earth reigned heat, the top of the mountain was covered with snow and clouds surrounded me on all sides! Since childhood, I dreamed of  touching the cloud by my hands and so it happened, can you believe it! And the scenery we saw can only be compared with Nepal or Tibet.

Peak of our vacation was the trip to the canyon Goynuk - one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. We said goodbye to the magnificent view of the sea and set off on foot towards adventure. We walked about 15-20 km and were incredibly tired, but I don't regret at all, because what we have seen is really priceless. Mountain trails, gorges, waterfalls overgrown by ferns - it was more like a fairyland than reality.

To tell the truth, Turkey was not in my top list of countries to visit. Yes, it is famous for its antiquities and certainly I really wanted to visit places such as the Neolithic settlement of Catal Hüyük and Troy, but I always put it back on later. A real Turkey taught me a good lesson. Its nature is truly magical and I fell in love with the mountains as never before. People in this country know how to live in harmony with the world and we have much to learn from them. Turkey is bright and varied as its spices and I hope I will have the opportunity to taste it again.
