Fragrant like the moon, white as the jasmine, cool like moonlight

After the publication of my previous post and several photos in different pin-up and rockabilly communities on Facebook, I keep getting the admiring comments and questions about my dress. So I have decided that it's certainly worthy of an individual review. This gorgeous dress is produced by  "Lady Mayra" brand. High-quality tailoring and soft cotton make it an ideal choice for summer heat. Skirt is wide flared and looks flawless with petticoat or without it. Print on fabric is just perfect! As for the size: I'm wearing size M. I've been  chosing between S and M, because my measurements are in between sizes. But in the end I decided that it will be better if the dress is a little more freely in the waist than when it tighten my chest. I was not wrong! So please, girls with a beautiful bust and slim waist pay attention to it! I must say that when I put on this dress, I feel incredibly feminine and comfy. Every vintage girl should have in her wardrobe such outfit, that fills her heart with spring chirping of birds and the aroma of blooming flowers.

Cuties, I wish you the brightest feelings on Valentine's Day! Spend it together with your loved ones, no matter whether it is your soul mates, friends or relatives. The world needs more love from our hearts than ever. And I give you my heart and thank you for the support you give to me always! <3

Isn't it too dreamy?

Too much noir-jazz in recent days. Its sweet sounds envelop my body and caress my hearing like a dense and sweet honey. I plunge in the atmosphere inspired by David Lynch's masterpieces, where can be heard angelic voice of Julee Cruise. Somewhere on the edge between reality and fantasy heavy curtains of red velvet  rustle on the floor and anxious and astringent saxophone from penetrating melodies of Angelo Badalamenti makes me move smoothly into its rhythm. I enjoy gloomy detectives from 50s, where even murders are full of luxury and elegance, and each lady's outfit is able to pierce a man's heart better than the sharpest dagger. I like trying on my vintage boa. It is so easy to imagine myself a fatal poisoner descended from another noir movie. 

Unwrapped gifts

My beloved had never mistaken in choosing a gift to me. For Christmas I got addition to my collection of fragrances from the DFL. At this time "Сinnamon bun"! Needless to say that the smell of cinnamon is one of my most favorite, besides it matches with the spirit of Christmas perfectly. This scent in the line of DFL is more complex and multifaceted than usually. It's not just the monotonous smell of cinnamon, but a whole symphony of flavors. And the result of it is delicious. Excellent flavor for the winter! A drop of Christmas, a piece of gingerbread, fragrant glogg and joyful mood - you'll breathe it all together with "Cinnamon bun"!

Black October

Even in the middle of November I still relish post-Halloween mood. It came the most difficult period for me, when I barely see the sun and nature around me is painted in the mournful colors. At the same time I try to enjoy my melancholy and draw inspiration from it. Time for black silk blouses and Sylvia Plath lyrics.The best soundtracks for these days are Corpus Delicti, Fields of the Nephilim and Sisters of Mercy. And now I've also found fragrance that suited my despondency perfectly. It's "Death and Decay" by Lush. What a sweet goth name!

Every time I open it and put on the skin, I feel a kind of decadent pleasure in the spirit of Dorian Gray. They certainly smell funereal, but at the same time incredibly calm. This is mature, wise and peaceful aroma. I'm just in love with it.

I wanted to share with you also a couple of trinkets from my Halloween:

1) Oh so lovely pumpkin brooch found on Ebay fields. It created me a holiday mood a week before the event.

2) My culinary masterpiece - a vegan sandwich "Frankenstein." Avocados, olives and tomatoes - the best combination for healthy and creepy breakfast ever!

Dia de los muertos

Being in love with all things macabre, I could not ignore Mexican Day of the Dead and cult image of La Calavera de la Catrina. So this Halloween, we were inspired by the sugar skulls, ancient tombs, beautiful vintage dresses and mourning cemetery flowers.

  

Cherry bonbon

As you may know me and my friend Irina Voorhees are working in our own pin-up boutique. It is called "Cherry Shop". Why did it get exactly this name? The answer is very simple: can you imagine something more seductive than cherry? ;) Perhaps someone will object that strawberries, especially in combination with champagne or cream, have long been a symbol of temptation. But we prefer more refined, elegant and less straightforward symbols of seduction. After all, a true vintage style is far from the vulgarity and simplicity. Recall at least the famous trick with cherry by Audrey Horne from the cult TV series "Twin Peaks". Surely most of the male population was breathtaking from that interaction with berries! In addition, the fabric with cherries has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the pin-up style. And if we play a little bit more with the symbols, you may notice that the cherries are usually depicted two on the twig - so we are working on different projects side by side together for many years :) Like this! I think the history of our shop name went too long, and therefore need to be brief,  so we are passing you a piece of summer and kisses xoxox 

On Tuesday we wear pink

I thought that special attention should be paid to the wonderful dress from the previous post. This dress is "Tuesday" from Lindy Bop. Naturally, I have long been familiar with this brand, and sell their products in my store. But when it came to me personally I was unable to pick up something perfect. The thing is that high waisted clothes don't fit me categorically. And the range of Lindy Bop on 90% consists of such items... I have started to think that is something wrong with my body, when I suddenly saw "Tuesday." This dress looked extremely cute and waist was in the right place. However, there was one doubt. From an early age I had a prejudice against pink. You know, it always associates with Barbie and silly schoolgirls >_< So it took all my stock of courage to finally order it. And guess what? I have never regretted about my decision! Of course, I needed a certain amount of time to get used to a new image. But the result is pleasing me. It was also a very big fun to pick up the suitable accessories. Since this dress evokes candy associations in me, I chose no less sweet handbag in the form of a cake, white petticoat and vintage coral shoes. The magenta peony became the cherry on top of this outfit. I guess it's not difficult to believe that I feel incredibly happy in it. And still a bit schoolgirl... Perhaps that is why I was so drawn to the theme parks lately :D

When I saw you standing there - green eyes, black hair, up against the pink and purple wisteria...

Today I would like to share with you a few thoughts on the retro image of a modern girl. Since I have been selling clothing and accessories in the style of the 50s, I often encounter with the girls, who want to sound like a pretty pin-up beauties of the past. Especially since this is now in vogue. Most often, they simply buy a dress in vintage style, so as not to complicate the task of finding and combination of separates. However, almost no one thinks that this is not enough! 50's style is very multi-layered and full of a variety of items from accessories to shoes. I want to show you on own example how difficult and really exciting at the same time to create a complete image of the different elements. 

For a long time I was crazy about a stunning mint green cardigan by Voodoo Vixen. And of course I ordered it at the first opportunity! But when  I've got it, I realized that absolutely can not find a worthy couple... It spent a few months in my closet until I accidentally stumbled upon a lovely skirt by Zara that is coming to the cardigan tone on tone. 

The next step was the purchase of shoes suited to this tender set. Here I was lucky enough and found a charming little vintage shoes with a small heel that look incredibly feminine.

Usually I wear a little black bag that is fitting almost all clothes. But in this case the black color seemed to me to be too heavy. However, to find something proper was quite simple - and here I am, the happy owner of a charming handbag  in retro style with a cute bow.

To complete the look I needed only accessories. I've chosen wide pink belt and two pairs of hair flowers - green and white orchids. The image has been finished! And I must say that each time appearing in this kit on public, I get a lot of attention and compliments :)

In conclusion I want to say that before buying anything, always think how you will assemble it, this is a very important aspect. And be sure to check out the page of Voodoo Vixen, it is a really good brand, representing a variety of comfy and beautiful clothes.
