Zooropa

On the winter vacations, I drove my way through all Baltic countries to the heart of Europe - a magnificent Gothic Prague. Endless snow-covered fields and forests of Latvia and Lithuania fascinated me with its fabulous views. But most of all I was filled by Polish landscapes. Small towns with ancient houses, cathedrals aspiring to the heights, steep streets, white hills on the horizon - all that will remain forever in my heart. I hope I will have the opportunity to ride in a car through this wonderful country, stopping at every wonderful place, attracting my eye. In early childhood I have been to Warsaw, but now I was able to refresh my memory. Reconstruction of this amazing city is a real feat. Each stone pavement and every piece of tile has been recreated here with an incredible love that literally lights up the streets. Unfortunately there was a heavy frost in Warsaw, and I was not able to enjoy views of the city sufficiently. But Prague met us with beautiful snowfall. St. Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge looked like Christmas toys in this weather. All day long we've been wandering through my beloved Prague, and in the evenings chilling in the best bar in the world - "Absintherie". This is a place with inexpressible atmosphere of decadence. While drinking Absinthe, the portraits of Baudelaire and Verlaine look down at you from the walls and you hear the sounds of the piano. Having accustomed to Prague we took a trip to Sedlec Ossuary. Visit it was my old dream. Millions of bones forming candelabra, chandeliers and other decorations of the church are incredibly impressive. You can walk here for a long time looking at the finest details of Ars moriendi. On the last day in Prague the sun was shining bright and the weather was just sweet. It was madly sorry to leave the beautiful heart of Europe, but Prague gave me her wonders beyond measure, and I'm still full of inspiration.

Dia de los muertos

Being in love with all things macabre, I could not ignore Mexican Day of the Dead and cult image of La Calavera de la Catrina. So this Halloween, we were inspired by the sugar skulls, ancient tombs, beautiful vintage dresses and mourning cemetery flowers.

Baby goth :D

Do you remember yourself in a period when you just became interested in the subculture? For me the turning point was 2005-2006, when I began to communicate with gothic hangouts of Petersburg and feel like a Goth. On the other hand, of course I was still a child. What can I say, 15-16 years! :) Now, after almost ten years, so weird to look at old photos ...First black clothes, first hair coloring, first party, first gothic boys :) It seems that it was in another life with another person. But these pictures - silent witnesses of the past.

(I am second from the left. What a grim, oh!)

( I love that pic very much...Don't ask me why, I can't explain...)

I love the darkness in you

Last week I met  my  beloved sister Tarja. We wandered through the twilight city and the road itself led us to the old Lutheran cemetery. The first time this year we've been there. I like walking along the cobbled lanes of dilapidated graves of French and German citizens. It was pretty cool, but we had a jar with rum and despite the darkness, we spent a lot of time there.  As a child, I always thought that the grave can fill you with some kind of energy. So I love to touch the mossy tombstones and feel like supernatural force penetrates me. This time we found  forgotten candles and lit them all around. We talked about life, love, broken hearts, and only the moon looked down on us.

She's got cemetery eyes

Yesterday tormented by insomnia, I was sorting out old photos on my computer. I accidentally stumbled upon the pictures taken this summer at the old Lutheran cemetery. When I was younger and spent more time among the goths of my city visits to the cemetery were very frequent. I love the peaceful atmosphere of the cemetery, exquisite vintage headstones, silence. But nowdays because of my work and studies I do not have much time for that. So every time when I can get there with friends it becomes a bit of a holiday, lil carnival of death:)
