Rock around the Christmas tree

Dear friends! With great delay congratulate you on Happy New Year! May this year be bright, warm and unforgettable.  As for me, I have summed up the results of the past year.

The most important thing for me is that a loved one was near. Whatever we do, no matter how adventurous were plans crowded in my head, he always supported me. 

We traveled a lot - and this is one of the greatest things for me. This year we visited Estonia, Finland, Turkey and India. Not so much as we would like, but still something. New Year`s Tallinn is a fabulous place, and Finland in my mind will always be a fantastic country with green forests inhabited by elves. Turkey has been a real surprise for me. This country has an incredibly rich cultural heritage and unspeakable natural beauty. As for India, then it is not a secret that I'm in love with this beautiful, soulful and slightly crazy country. Nature, religion, people - all of it is a mystery to me and the object of attraction. 

Another achievement - graduation. Now I am a certified cultural scientist! However, I'm going to continue  my education, but more on that in due time. 

I stand at the base of two stores in St. Petersburg. "Forest Shop" - is clothing for the elves, incense and various oddities from Asia. "Cherry shop" - dresses, hats, gloves and more for lovers of vintage fashion. I actively develop both directions. With our shops we have traveled several festivals, participated in the parties. This is a new invaluable experience! 

I joined the pin-up project Rebel Dolls, who opened me up and introduced to a new world. I found new friends, co-starred in the music video and numerous photo shoots, many years after the last experience participated in the organization of parties. It was hilarious! 

So this year was definitely cheerful and productive. I hope the new year will bring even more wonders! Therefore, pour yourself a cup of fragrant tea and enjoy! =*

Trick or treat - the bitter and the sweet!

In the gloomy autumn evening on the eve of All Saints' Day, evil creeps out on dark streets to tickle nerves of belated passers. Among the whirlwind of ghouls and devils, continually flashed others, unusual and frightening characters.  This is seductive Witch who enchants men with devilish elixirs, and the mysterious Mummy that keeps the secrets of Egyptian gods immortality.  Along with them that night resurrects personages of old Hollywood horror tapes, who eager to make their nightmares come true - undead creations of Victor Frankenstein and sinister Vampira. And those who will slip from their fangs will face Alice from Wonderland,  with a sweet smile hiding behind her back a dagger.

So, dear friends, Happy Halloween! And Rebel Dolls have already started to celebrate it in the St. Petersburg restaurant of horror aesthetics - "The Bat". I wish you a great damn fun evening! V~V

There comes a train long-suffering

Do you know about the existence of a special train  romance? The sound of wheels, landscapes careening outside the window, quiet conversation with a friend, and, finally, reading your favorite book about distant unknown countries. I traveled many miles by train: from St. Petersburg to the north of Russia, from  the old European cities to the others, from the capital of India to  the place, where white people are still a rarity. Train for many years has been not only my best friend, but a friend of every traveler. However, now the trains have become so fast that some grain of adventure became lost. We are accelerating our pace, while any journey should be akin to prolonged meditation. That's why I was so pleased with the images of vintage steam locomotives, awaken in everyone who is close to them, the spirit of the brave discoverer.

(Of course, I could not resist the temptation to visit St. Petersburg museum of vintage trains together with my friends. It was a gorgeous autumn day!)

October and the trees are stripped bare of all they wear. What do I care?

As soon as on the new sheet of calendar appears word 'October', in my head softly and thoughtfully, starts to sound old U2 song.  Such a simple and touching, it  characterized  this month the best. The keys in this song are similar to the the last glimpses of the warm sun, which soon will be hidden from us for the long winter months. October is intoxicating, makes us poetic and melancholic. The body falls into a trance and all that I want to do - just to admire the golden leaves, floating on the cooling waters of  my soul.

Rebel Dolls

A few weeks ago I told you that I have visited the Harley Davidson Festival in St. Petersburg. This is where started my love for motorcycles. But not only that! A few pin-up cats, who met there, have teamed up to create a new retro project. Get acquainted - "Rebel Dolls"!

"Rebel dolls - is bright and bold project, that was created to maintain the rebellious spirit and Pin Up culture in the Russian capital of rock 'n' roll. Pin Up for us isn't only appearance and a cultural phenomenon, but also a way of life. We are experimenting with our own style - from the refined elegance  of 20-30's boudoirs till the audacity of psychobilly. And we are also involved in the shows, parties and performances. Welcome to the world of retro aesthetics and rock-drive!"

So, where do we start?Our acquaintance on motofestival literally became the forerunner of the first photoset. Guys, Harley Davidson shop owners - Fort MFG, invited us to shoot for the advertisement. Just imagine! Dozens of top-class motorcycles for which I even scared to breathe! 5 hours of work and this is our result! They say better luck next time, but I think we did a fine job today :)

Hot Wheels...Motor Burn!

August 7-10 in St. Petersburg held annual festival of  Harley Davidson - "Harley days". Thousands of bikers from around the world come to participate in the parade in the city center. It was a powerful experience! And immediately felt that St. Petersburg is the European city level. A few days went concerts of rockabilly and rock and roll music, and the festival was adorned with participation of pin up girls. I was among the lucky ones too;) I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but it looks like we were the most vivid girls at the festival. Everyone wanted to take pictures with us. All this inspired us to develop pin-up movement in our city. Let's see what happens :)

Polyester white trash made in nowhere

Hi darlings! Much time has passed since the last post. This summer is just driving me crazy! First, in St. Petersburg we faced unprecedented heat - about 30 degrees. Secondly, I have a huge amount of work involved with my projects. I will try to cover everything.

 I've already told you about our little pin up clothing store. We sent several dozen of orders with clothes and made incredibly cute business cards. Just look! 

"Cherry Shop" also participated  for the first time in the fair on the big annual exhibition "City - landscape". It was a great experience for us!

The exhibition was held in an old printing house in the city center. Works of young photographers shocked me with its irony, depth, a new look at the world. It was a real manifesto of postmodernism. The exhibition also held a competition for the best work. One could select five images. Here is one of those that impressed me the most:

Pictures were hung not merely on the walls, but on the old printing presses. This created an incredible combination of tradition and novelty. Again postmodernism!

Other than I do another development project, which is wholly owned my heart. This is "Forest shop", which sells clothes for the elves and fairies. Futuristic design, natural colors, style mix of tribal and psy trance - it is all "Forest Shop." Yes, I wrote about few models of clothes from this store here. Now I select a new collection, and I feel that it will be just stunning! By the way, I can boast of some commercials for "Forest Shop" too. Here is our logo and business card: 

With this shop we visited two large open air festivals - "Warmth of the North" and "Yogart". The last one was special for us. This event is associated with yoga, tribal, vegetarianism, healthy lifestyle. It was very cool to be there and see so many beautiful and free people. Frankly, that trip was not the work, but  a real pleasure! I am very sorry that I didn't have a camera to capture sunrises and sunsets over the lake, next to which a festival held, and our wonderful customers. 

Now I need to take stock of the work done. I must say that I love what I do, even though it takes a lot of strength. I never thought it would be so difficult. Generally, I do not like to sell anything, it's not in my blood. But on the other hand, I love to see the happy faces of the people who found the clothes they were dreaming. It's worth it! This is business for my soul and I hope it will flourish.

It's not necrophilia if you're dead too

Too much light! I love the sun, but the first rays of spring, so bright and hot, make me hide in the shadows. The first thing I do when I get home - close all the curtains to stay in the dark and get rid of the pain in my eyes. One crazy thought has arisen in my head - can I become a vampire?:) This is my biggest dream since childhood, hee-hee :) It inspired me to watch old gold films with my favorite classical heroines: Morticia Addams, Lily Munster amd Vampira. Nevertheless, my appearance of the last days is more suitable for Elvira ;) What do you think, what kind of image is more like for me? V~V

The velvet blade of apathy

Phew ... Yesterday my thesis was finally approved at a meeting of professors at my university. Now I feel kind of devastation and sadness. The fact is that I merged with my research work and study, and I'm scared to imagine that all this will be over soon. Although, may be it's spring acting so on the unbalanced people :)  Just in a week the darkness left my city, and here is so much bright sunlight now... How can you not have arisen psychosis! 

But the best cure for a girl is shopping :) I have long needed spring shoes and I saw this lovely couple in time. They are made in retro style of fake leather and suede. And of course the photos can't convey how cute they look on the legs ^^. What is important for me, they remind of Audrey Horne's shoes  from Twin Peaks, my favorite heroine. 

If we are talking about shopping, I can't hide my admiration for the new facility for hair from Diego Dalla Palma. This is a wonderful shampoo and conditioner. I bought them in a spa hotel during a trip to Mikkeli. At the moment this cosmetic line has become my number 1. It strengthens the hair and makes it silky, just magic! 

In the mood

Yesterday was a crazy night! Finally the moment has come! We went to the concert of Glenn Miller Orchestra! I need to catch my breath to quietly tell the tale. It was incredible! As soon as the band took the stage we found ourselves in the atmosphere of the 40s. Two hours of divinely beautiful melodies and incendiary energy! Until now my heart is beating faster and jazz sounds in my head. 

Their vocalist is  personified charm. She has a wonderful gentle and deep voice. 

I can talk about this concert for hours, but once is better to go and hear :) I assure you, your legs just start dancing! 

For this event I had  a wonderful dress by Collectif. I like it very much. Lately I buy clothes only from them.
